After flying high against the South East Jaguars on Wednesday, the San Pedro Pirates came back down to earth. San Pedro took a serious blow against North on Saturday, falling 73-23. San Pedro was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-7.
Despite the loss, San Pedro still got an impressive performance from Maia Wooldridge , who scored 15 points. Wooldridge scored a full 65.2% of San Pedro's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
San Pedro has fallen quite a ways from their 24-9 record last season and are now at 2-5. As for North, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Pedro will face off against Jordan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jordan presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than San Pedro in California (Jordan is ranked 106th, while San Pedro is ranked 521st). As for North, they will head out on the road to face off against McClatchy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. McClatchy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 177 points over their last three matchups.
