The Branford Buccaneers got the win against the Wakulla Christian School Saints on Friday by a conclusive 8-2. Considering the Buccaneers have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Patrick Williams made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over 5.1 innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. He has become a key player for Branford: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6 otherwise.
