There's no place like home for the Lathrop Spartans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They took their game at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 55-28 win over Pacheco. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Lathrop has posted since December 29, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lathrop to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shakara Porter, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Porter hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 23 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleiyah Ray, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Pacheco still got an impressive performance from Sasha S siemiller, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. S siemiller has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.
Even though they lost, Pacheco smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lathrop only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Lathrop's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Pacheco, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.
Lathrop and Grace Davis will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Grace Davis has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 8. As for Pacheco, Pacheco and Ceres will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Ceres focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
