The Terrell County Greenwave will face off against the Southwest Georgia STEM Charter Aggies at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Terrell County sitting on four straight victories and Southwest Georgia STEM Charter on three.
Terrell County came out on top against Randolph-Clay on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Greenwave took their contest against the Red Devils 7-4.
Zyon Price was excellent, earning one run and three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Southwest Georgia STEM Charter made easy work of Terrell County on Tuesday and carried off a 13-7 win. Considering the Aggies have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Chance Washington was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Southwest Georgia STEM Charter is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-13 otherwise. Washington was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, JB Blackshear and Kason King did most of the damage at the plate: Blackshear went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while King went 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Southwest Georgia STEM Charter is undefeated when Blackshear posts two or more runs, but 2-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Sadarian Hosten, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Terrell County's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Southwest Georgia STEM Charter, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.
