The Truckee Wolverines lost against the North Valleys Panthers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Truckee took a serious blow against the Panthers, falling 64-6. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Truckee has scored all season.
North Valleys' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Annika Hester led the charge by scoring 22 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hester has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ivy Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Truckee has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for North Valleys, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-5.
Truckee will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully South Tahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday. As for North Valleys, they will head out on the road to take on the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hug will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Panthers are ranked 18th).
