We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Brawley turned things around against La Jolla on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Vikings. The Wildcats not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 7th.

Sergio Garcia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Brawley: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, Brawley got a massive performance out of Rane Reeves, who went 3-for-5 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Reeves has posted since back in May of 2024. Tate Preece was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Brawley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Las Vegas got the win against Oceanside on Wednesday by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Wildcats have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Brawley, Las Vegas also got a great game from a two-way player: MICKEY MARTINEZ. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over six innings pitched. MARTINEZ has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other pitching news, ADRIAN D'ANNA looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, BRYDEN BULL was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was JUSTIN ROMERO, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Brawley's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Las Vegas, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
