Affton had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Hancock on Wednesday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Tigers. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 8.5 runs per game.

Affton's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Affton will challenge Hazelwood West at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hancock, they will head out to challenge Riverview Gardens at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
