On Saturday, the Western Christian Fighting Lancers were able to grind out a solid win over the Duarte Falcons, taking the game 7-4.
Josh Turner made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, James Mack was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Jacob Statler also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
The victory got Western Christian back to even at 4-4. As for Duarte, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2 record.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Diamond Ranch at 3:15 p.m. on March 28th. As for Duarte, they will head out to square off against Garey at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
