Lancaster Country Day's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 38-24 to Mount Calvary Christian. Lancaster Country Day was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mount Calvary Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Mount Calvary Christian found their leader in underclassman Kylie Masters, who scored 18 points along with five steals. Masters is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Webb, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Lancaster Country Day's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Mount Calvary Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lancaster Country Day will challenge Lancaster County Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lancaster County Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Mount Calvary Christian, they will head out on the road to take on New Covenant Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
