After flying high against the East Butler Tigers last Tuesday, the Shelby-Rising City Huskies came back down to earth. Shelby-Rising City took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Tuesday. Shelby-Rising City has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Shelby-Rising City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ava Larmon, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Larmon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Rylie Carter was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Shelby-Rising City has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Nebraska Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shelby-Rising City's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Titans at 6:15 p.m. on February 6th. Nebraska Christian will take on the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
