Baseball Game Preview: Centennial Knights vs. The Weber School Rams + How To Watch

The Centennial Knights are taking a road trip to challenge The Weber School Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Centennial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Centennial not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 3rd (when they won 15-0). Everything went their way against Spalding as they made off with a 17-4 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their one-run performance the contest before.

James Gillespie looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Centennial let Carlos Marquez and David Perkins run wild. Marquez got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Perkins went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Centennial is undefeated when Perkins posts two or more runs, but 8-11 otherwise. Brenden Vo also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The Weber School had taken St. Francis down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Rams took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

The Weber School's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Centennial couldn't quite finish off The Weber School in their previous matchup back in February of 2025 and fell 5-3. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
