Baseball Recap: Dougherty Valley Takes a Loss

Dougherty Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the San Ramon Valley Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 last Wednesday.

Dougherty Valley got a good showing from Tyler Hains, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hains has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Dougherty Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for San Ramon Valley, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-6.

Coming up, Dougherty Valley will take on Clayton Valley Charter in a tournament on Monday. As for San Ramon Valley, they will be taking part in a tournament against Alameda at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
