Given Lynwood's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Warren is ranked 479th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lynwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taliyah Mcferson, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Shanilah Ewing, who scored seven points along with seven steals.
Lynwood has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season. As for Warren, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Lynwood won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Long Beach Poly at 5:00 p.m. on January 20th. Long Beach Poly is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Warren, they will be playing at home against Paramount at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
