The Priory Panthers will challenge the Harker Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Priory will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Mission on Saturday. The Panthers blew past the Bears 14-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Trevor Demkin made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Priory is 4-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Demkin was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Matthew Sun and Kai Aalfs did most of the damage at the plate: Sun went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Aalfs went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Aalfs a new career-high. Lincoln Barnard was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Priory always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mission only posted an OBP of .387.
Meanwhile, Harker entered their tilt with Westmoor on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Rams.
Shaurya Jain spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aarav Borthakur, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Vidwat Shekar, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
The win got Priory back to even at 6-6. As for Harker, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Harker's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Priory hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. It's a different story for Harker, though, as they've only averaged .241. Will they be able to contain Priory's hitters?
Priory came out on top in a nail-biter against Harker in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 9-7. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
