Football Recap: Artesia Piles Up the Points Against Gadsden

Artesia had won three straight on the road, but on Friday they bumped up to 4-1 to make it four. They breezed past the Gadsden Panthers to the tune of 35-7. The 35-point effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Artesia got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryce Parra out in front who rushed for 123 yards and one score on only five carries. Parra is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 118 every time he's taken the field this season. Derrick Warren was another key passer, throwing for 164 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gadsden fell to 4-1. They were red-hot offensively heading into the game (they scored no less than 31 points in the four contests prior), but Artesia's defense proved too tough.

Gadsden lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was JUAN RIOS, who rushed for 102 yards and one TD.

Artesia wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 56-23 victory against Lovington on the 26th. As for Gadsden, they have also already played their next game, a 28-27 loss against Goddard on the 26th.
