The Northwestern Wildcats won against the North East Grape Pickers on Monday with 41 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Northwestern walked away with a 41-29 win over North East. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Northwestern.
Makayla Presser-Palmer was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. The contest was her fifth in a row with at least ten points.
North East lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alaina Rodemoyer, who scored nine points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Alexandra Cozzens, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and five assists.
Northwestern's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. As for North East, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwestern's road trip will continue as they head out to face Eisenhower at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th. As for North East, they will challenge Iroquois at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Iroquois is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
