Basketball Recap: Tehachapi Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Tehachapi lost to Liberty back in February of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Tehachapi Warriors came out on top against the Liberty Patriots by a score of 52-40. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Patriots are ranked 440th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Tehachapi to victory were Riley Walden and Koree Rodden. Walden dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 boards, while Rodden dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards. Walden's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Jamie Neaderbaomer was another key player, putting up eight points.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Liberty, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Tehachapi is taking a road trip to take on Monache at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Monache will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Tehachapi surely won't give up without a fight. As for Liberty, they will take on Tulare Union in a tournament on December 20th.
