A feisty cat fight will be fought as West Park Panthers challenge Kennedy Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Park has four straight victories, Kennedy has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, West Park was able to grind out a solid win over River City, taking the game 12-7.
Caleb Peck was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jesse Palmer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Jace Oliver was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
West Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Kennedy came up short against Antelope on Monday, falling 18-5.
Diego Avalos-Daniels made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
West Park's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Kennedy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Park has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .517.
