Last Monday, Math Civics & Sciences was beaten by West Philadelphia 48-7. While losing is never fun, Math Civics & Sciences can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 375th, while West Philadelphia is ranked 162nd).
Meanwhile, Roxborough waltzed into their match on Wednesday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. Everything went their way against Thomas A. Edison as Roxborough made off with a 48-26 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Roxborough has posted yet this season.
Roxborough's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylah Holmes led the charge by scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Siaharr Simmons, who scored ten points along with three steals and two blocks.
Math Civics & Sciences' loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Roxborough, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
