Baseball Recap: Aquinas Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Aquinas won the last time they faced Westside and things went their way on Friday too. The Irish were the clear victors by a 20-3 margin over the Patriots. The Irish might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Greg Doman was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Michael Koltz looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Aquinas got a massive performance out of James Sherry, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave Sherry a new career-high. Patrick Sherry was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI.

Aquinas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westside only posted an OBP of .385.

The win was the fourth in a row for Aquinas, bringing their record up to 14-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Westside, they dropped their record down to 9-20 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

As of now, neither Aquinas nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
