Colusa had lost five straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 3-17 to make it six. They lost 11-1 to the Paradise Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in March.
Colusa saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dane Codorniz, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. That double marked the first that Codorniz has hit this season.
As for Paradise, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th (when they won 12-0).
On Paradise's side, Aydrik Stolz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Stolz also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Paradise is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-8 otherwise. Stolz was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Jack Kegg was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Nate Meldrum, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Colusa didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-1 defeat against East Nicolaus on the 1st. As for Paradise, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-1 loss against Winters on the 6th.
