The Burroughs Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season. They really took it to Muir for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-37 victory on the road. Burroughs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Mariam Fahs continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points. Elizabeth Amoroso was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
The victory (which was Burroughs' fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-2. As for Muir, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burroughs will challenge Glendale at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Glendale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Burroughs is ranked 126th). As for Muir, they will head out on the road to face off against Burbank at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
