The Ferndale Yellow Jackets can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 51-39 win over Shade. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Ferndale also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ferndale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abby Barley, who scored 11 points along with six steals. Barley has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Deajah Chatman was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Ferndale's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Shade, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ferndale will square off against Turkeyfoot Valley Area at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Turkeyfoot Valley Area focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Monday. As for Shade, they will head out on the road to square off against Conemaugh Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
