The Highland Tech Rams won the last time they faced the Cherryville Ironmen, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Highland Tech enjoyed a cozy 56-40 victory over Cherryville. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Highland Tech.
Addie McCraw was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 20 rebounds. McCraw is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Madeline Letts, who scored 15 points.
Despite the defeat, Cherryville saw an underclassman step up: Raylei Gidney scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gidney has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Krista Davis, who scored ten points.
Highland Tech's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Cherryville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland Tech will square off against Bessemer City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bessemer City is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Cherryville, they will head out on the road to face off against Burns at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Burns focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Friday.
