The Colton Yellowjackets will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Rim of the World Fighting Scots at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Colton has nine straight victories, Rim of the World has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, Colton didn't have too much trouble with Bloomington at home as they won 45-27.
Colton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zoey Espino out in front who scored 12 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Jimenez, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Rim of the World suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were outmatched by Indian Springs on the road and fell 68-28. Rim of the World was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-12.
Colton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Rim of the World, they bumped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Colton against Rim of the World in their previous matchup two weeks ago as the squad secured a 83-36 win. Will Colton repeat their success, or does Rim of the World have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
