Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 32 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Central Cabarrus Vikings proved on Friday. They really took it to East Rowan for the full four quarters, racking up a 104-37 victory on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 64-17.
Central Cabarrus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but DJ Kent Jr. led the charge by scoring 22 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chase Daniel, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 assists.
Despite the loss, East Rowan still got an impressive performance from Jonathan Wembolua, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. The game was Wembolua's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
The win makes it two in a row for Central Cabarrus and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for East Rowan, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
