The Oceana Sharks's game on Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down Galileo 60-44. This was payback for Oceana, who suffered a 54-34 loss the last time these two teams met.
Oceana was led to victory by Alamea Lewis and Allie Pon. Lewis scored 18 points, while Pon scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. Kelani Cheng was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Oceana has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Galileo, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oceana will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Immaculate Conception at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Galileo will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
