Great Mills is 9-1 against Chopticon since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Wednesday. The Great Mills Hornets will head out on the road to  square off against  the Chopticon Braves at 6:30  p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  both teams posted some lofty  point totals in their previous games.
 Last Friday, Great Mills was able to grind out a solid  win over Thomas Stone, taking the game  68-56.
 Great Mills got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Cameron Brooks out in front who  scored 13 points along with six  rebounds and three  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  DeAndre Dorsey, who  scored 15 points along with two  steals.
 Meanwhile, Chopticon waltzed into their contest  on Monday with two straight wins  but they left with three. They strolled past La Plata with  points to spare, taking the game  66-50. Given Chopticon's advantage  in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings  (they are ranked 89th, while La Plata is ranked 237th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Great Mills has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record  this season. As for Chopticon, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.
 Great Mills was able to grind out a solid  victory over Chopticon when the teams last played  back in December of 2023, winning  63-55. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was  Chopticon's  Brian McMahon, who  scored 18 points along with two  steals.
