Softball Recap: Ladue Horton Watkins Has No Trouble Against Parkway North

After only two runs in their last game, Ladue Horton Watkins made sure to put some runs up on the board against Parkway North on Friday. The Rams blew past the Vikings 14-1. Considering the Rams have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Caroline Moore made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Moore was also big at the plate, earning one RBI and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in October of 2024.

In other batting news, Emme Shapiro and Lucy Dempsey did most of the damage at the plate: Shapiro went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Dempsey got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Dempsey has posted since back in October of 2024. Colette Brennan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

With the victory, Ladue Horton Watkins broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-6. As for Parkway North, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Ladue Horton Watkins will venture away from home to square off against Mehlville at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Parkway North, they will head out to take on Seckman at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
