The Sachse Mustangs waltzed into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat North Garland 56-19 at home. Sachse might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven games by 24 points or more this season.
Brenden George continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 307 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per attempt. George is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joshua Ridge, who rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns.
North Garland's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mateo Howard, who picked up 57 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Christian Hampton who threw for 71 yards and two touchdowns.
Sachse's victory was their fourth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 8-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-10 Naaman Forest and 2-8 South Garland (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 21.6% over those games). As for North Garland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
Sachse will take on Rockwall-Heath at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Rockwall-Heath is ranked 41st, while Sachse is ranked 56th). North Garland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
