Given Beaver Falls' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Spartans are ranked 564th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ellwood City's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Beaver Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
