The Lakewood Lancers can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They claimed a resounding 65-5 victory over Compton at home. The win was nothing new for Lakewood as they're now sitting on three straight.
Cristina Jones was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 13 steals. Jones is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Amy Rubio was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Lakewood's win bumped their record up to 22-3. As for Compton, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-22.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakewood will challenge Long Beach Poly at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Long Beach Poly is ranked 90th, while Lakewood is ranked 72nd). As for Compton, they will head out on the road to take on Millikan at 4:29 p.m. on Tuesday.
