In what's become a running theme this season, Waynesburg Central gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They blew past Charleroi 62-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Waynesburg Central has posted since December 14, 2023.
Josie Horne was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Cowell, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
McGuffey's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Waynesburg Central, their victory bumped their record up to 16-1.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: McGuffey have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Waynesburg Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.3 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
