Baseball Recap: Paramount Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Paramount won the last time they faced Oxford Academy and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Pirates blew past the Patriots 10-4. Considering the Pirates have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Paramount let Jacob Lara and Nicholas Medina run wild. Lara scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Medina scored two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Lara has posted since back in March. Jacob Quinones was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Paramount pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Oxford Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Coming up, Paramount will head out to take on Mary Star of the Sea at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Stars will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Oxford Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Whitney at 3:15 p.m. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.82 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
