St. Francis' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
St. Francis found their leader in underclassman Maya Calfee, who almost dropped a triple-double on 25 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. Calfee has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Raich, who scored 19 points along with four steals.
St. Francis' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Gonzales, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Francis will challenge North Monterey County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Francis has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Gonzales, they will head out on the road to square off against Pajaro Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
