Seminole County extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping them up to 6-9. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 11-10 W against the Bainbridge Bearcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-22 last Wednesday.
The team relied heavily on M Turner, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. J Henry was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
As for Bainbridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.
On Bainbridge's side, Auburn Culpepper was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits Culpepper has allowed since back in August. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one triple. She has been hot recently, having also posted three or more hits the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Ja'Ziya Bradley led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Williams, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Seminole County has already played their next matchup, a 14-2 win against Randolph-Clay on the 30th. As for Bainbridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 22-1 defeat against Thomasville on the 30th.
