The Marshall Barristers's game on Friday was all tied up 15-15 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 50-33 bruising from Wilson. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Marshall in their matchups with Wilson: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Marshall still got an impressive performance from Giselly Gaona, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Gibson, who scored nine points along with two steals and two blocks.
Among those leading the charge was Alexis J, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Dailyn M was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Marshall has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Wilson, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
Marshall will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
