It was a good run, but the Calvary Christian Academy Conquerors unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 41-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Johnstown Christian. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Calvary Christian Academy in their matchups with Johnstown Christian: they've now lost eight in a row.
Several Conquerors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Macayla Mills, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 18 rebounds. Mills has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bethany Suttles, who scored six points along with three steals and two blocks.
Calvary Christian Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2. As for Johnstown Christian, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Centre County Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for Johnstown Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Blair County Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
