Utopia is 1-8-1 against the Crushers since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Utopia Buffaloes will head out on the road to take on the Knippa Crushers at 7:30 p.m. Utopia will be strutting in after a victory while the Crushers will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Utopia got the win against the Panthers by a conclusive 62-37.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Utopia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylor Wiekamp, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Wiekamp is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dustin Rhodes, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Knippa's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. They took a 33-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of D'Hanis. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Knippa has scored all season.
Utopia now has a winning record of 14-13-1. As for Knippa, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-9-1.
Utopia came up short against the Crushers in their previous meeting back in January, falling 52-40. Can Utopia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
