It was a good run, but Church Point unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 63-55 to the Newman Greenies. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Greenies are ranked 35th).

Randy Livingston Jr was his usual excellent self, going 8 of 14 on his way to 25 points along with six assists and three steals for Newman. The game was Livingston Jr's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cj Encarlade, who posted ten points and three steals.

Church Point's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Newman, their record is now 8-1.

Church Point didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-33 victory against Barbe on the 27th. As for Newman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-43 win against Catholic - N.I. on the 27th.
