Basketball Recap: Adelyn Myers Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Richland

Bishop Carroll won the last time they faced Richland and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bishop Carroll Huskies snuck past the Richland Rams with a 56-52 victory. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Rams are ranked 236th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bishop Carroll's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Adelyn Myers led the charge by going 7 for 15 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds. Myers has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Ava Pablic was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Lanie Marshall and Kiya Wise certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Marshall went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Wise dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Marshall is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Trinity Macey, who posted 13 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Bishop Carroll has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Bishop Carroll has already played their next matchup, a 45-42 win against Bishop McCort on the 25th. As for Richland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-26 defeat against River Valley on the 25th.
