The Richland Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell 64-57 to Penn Cambria. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Richland lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lanie Marshall, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Sasha Garnett was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Penn Cambria found their leader in underclassman Makenna Mccoy, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mccoy has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Ronan, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Richland's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Penn Cambria, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richland will take on Penns Valley Area at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Penns Valley Area will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Penn Cambria, they will head out on the road to challenge Bishop Guilfoyle at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop Guilfoyle will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
