Baseball Game Preview: Woodside Wildcats vs. Menlo School Knights

For the second straight game, Woodside will face off against Menlo School. The Wildcats will welcome the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Woodside blew Menlo School out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Menlo School got their revenge. The Wildcats fell just short of the Knights by a score of 5-3. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cruz Torres and Anderson Comfort stepped up to the plate in a big way. Torres went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Comfort went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Woodside is 4-1 when Comfort posts two or more runs, but 5-12 otherwise.

Menlo School is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Woodside, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.
