Clovis extended their winning streak  to five  on Friday, bumping them up to 7-1. They blew past the Clovis East Timberwolves, posting  a  42-15 victory. With the Cougars ahead  21-0 at the half, the  contest was all but over already.
Clovis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  James Curoso led the charge by rushing for 192 yards and two  scores while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Curoso showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 58 yards.  Deagan Rose was another key passer, throwing for 243 yards and three  TDs.
 Another reason for the win was Clovis' imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Curoso refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5  sacks all by himself.

 Clovis wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  matchup,  a  61-49  defeat against Central East on the 24th. As for Clovis East, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  14-0  loss against Buchanan on the 24th.
