After four games on the road, Homer is heading back home. They will take on the Pender Pendragons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Homer beat Hartington-Newcastle 59-55.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Homer to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexandra Albrecht, who scored 18 points along with three steals. Albrecht is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lilly Harris, who scored 17 points along with five assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Pender unfortunately witnessed the end of their 28-game winning streak dating back to last season on Tuesday. They fell 62-55 to Guardian Angels Central Catholic.
Homer has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Pender, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 20-1.
Homer was taken down by Pender 68-33 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Homer was down 42-13.
