Basketball Recap: Jordan Deck's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Forsyth Home Educators over South Charlotte

Forsyth Home Educators suffered their closest defeat since March 7th on Friday. They fell just short of the South Charlotte Thunder by a score of 37-34. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunder apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Forsyth Home Educators lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jordan Deck, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Those ten boards gave Deck a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reagan Clontz, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Forsyth Home Educators smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Charlotte only pulled down ten offensive boards.

Leading South Charlotte to victory were Caroline Gidney and Mya Aitchison. Gidney went 5 of 10 on her way to 12 points and four blocks, while Aitchison almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Gidney is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Ramos, who posted seven points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks.

Forsyth Home Educators moved to 9-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for South Charlotte, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Forsyth Home Educators didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-12 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 17th. As for South Charlotte, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 44-17 loss against Metrolina Christian Academy on the 16th.
