A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals duke it out with the Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Things were looking good for Osborne after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Hiram by a score of 8-7. The loss was the Cardinals' first of the season.
Joshua Tattershall was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned runs every time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jaden Hall and Bryant Edge did some serious damage despite the final result: Hall scored two runs and stole a base, while Edge scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Hall is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Wes Tilson was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Even though they lost, Osborne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .545 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Douglas County came up short against Hiram on Thursday, falling 13-2.
Douglas County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Bemus, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Having lost for the first time this season, Osborne fell to 2-1. As for Douglas County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything went Osborne's way against Douglas County in their previous meeting on Monday, as Osborne made off with a 9-0 win. Will Osborne repeat their success, or does Douglas County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
