Softball Recap: Warner Robins Takes a Loss

Warner Robins dropped down to 5-6 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 12-0 to the Peach County Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Demons of the 17-9 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2022.

As for Peach County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. The result was nothing new for Peach County, who have now won five matches by 12 runs or more so far this season.

For Peach County's part, Shaniyah Gibson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gibson was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in October of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Crozier, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Dickerson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warner Robins will venture away from home to take on Rutland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricanes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.43 runs per game on average), something the Demons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Peach County, they will square off against Monroe at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
