Basketball Game Preview: Vassar Vulcans vs. Millington Cardinals

Vassar is 0-8 against Millington since February of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Vassar Vulcans will welcome the Millington Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. Millington took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Vassar, who comes in off a win.

Vassar is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They snuck past Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy with a 39-33 win on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Vulcans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vassar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makenna McCloud, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. What's more, McCloud also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Maya Mccloud, who put up three points and 13 rebounds.

Vassar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Millington suffered their biggest defeat since February 2nd on Monday. They came up short against Lakeville, falling 44-22.

Vassar's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Millington, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-2.
