The Huntington Park Spartans fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Roosevelt Rough Riders on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Rough Riders 43-38. Huntington Park was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Roosevelt apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ingryd Hernandez, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jennifer Bedolla, who scored ten points.
Huntington Park has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Roosevelt, their win bumped their record up to 3-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Huntington Park will take on South East at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Roosevelt, they will play host again and welcome Bell, where tip off is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. on Monday. Bell is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
